Now that I’ve got a new loft here in lovely, grimey, noisy, awesome Downtown LA, I figure I should use it as an excuse to blog more.
Today, I woke up at the crack of dawn (aka 9:30am for me) and headed down to the LA Flower District looking for some plants and/or flowers to make my loft seem a little less warehouse like. My friend Cate drove, but that was pretty unnecessary as the flower district (which is nestled inside the larger LA Garment District) is just a few blocks away. It did make it easier to cart our new greenery home, however.
The LA Flower District is basically about 1 large city block filled with stores dedicated to pottery, plant needs and, at the very center, a really large warehouse where people sell fresh grown flowers all farmer’s market style. In short, it smells wonderful.

I think it really softens the room a lot. Now to just find a rug…
